Death information

Nancy's death record reveals she died of acute exhaustion, brought on by psychosis lasting 2 months and 15 days. Myocarditis was a contributing cause. Nancy had been an inmate at the Augusta State Hospital for 2 months and 6 days. Nancy was married to Anson Wallace, and had had seven children, tho only 3 survived infancy. The youngest, Virgil Wallace, was born in Oct. 1917 (or 1918?), and was just a baby when his mother died. Anson & Nancy's eldest living child was Abner Wallace, born in May of 1906.

In the 1920 census, Anson appears in his brother's household in Sagadahoc County, Maine as a widower; his children are not present. Virgil, the youngest, and Abner, who was 13, appear in the household of their maternal aunt, Etta May Alexander Darling in Cumberland County, Maine. Etta's namesake, Anson and Nancy's daughter Etta Emily Wallace, born in September, 1908, doesn't seem to appear in the Maine census for 1920. There is an Etta E Wallace, age 11, in the household of Arthur R and Lavina Emily Bullard in Hillsborough county, New Hampshire; Lavina is Nancy's sister as well.
