LAWRENCE -- Myrtle Ethel Mae Wilson, 95, Lawrence, died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at a Lawrence hospital.
Mrs. Wilson had worked as a clerk for the Kwik Shop in Lawrence and earlier at Wiley's Market in North Lawrence and the Landreth Market in downtown Lawrence.
She was born Feb. 21, 1904, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Richard R. and Mary Jane Hubbel Jones. She had lived in Lawrence most of her life. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First Christian Church, the Autumn Club and the Gold Star Widows of Veterans, all in Lawrence.
She married Wiley Wilson on Oct. 20, 1921, in Lawrence. He died Nov. 27, 1938.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Burnett, Lawrence; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, Lawrence. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church Building Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
