Myrtle M. Baughman was born on May 1, 1928, in Herminie, a daughter of Jacob J. Baughman and Myrtle Mae (Franicola) Baughman.
Myrtle married Carl Peters, and they became the parents of a son and four daughters.
Myrtle enjoyed baking and participating in the Senior Life Program of Greensburg.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 515, the F.O. Eagles No. 01188 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a longtime volunteer for the Latrobe 4th of July Celebration Committee. Myrtle had attended Trinity Lutheran Church.
At the age of 88, Myrtle M. (Baughman) Peters, of Latrobe, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her residence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Peters, Sr.; a daughter, Darlene L. Snyder; and a brother, Dwight Baughman.
Myrtle was survived by one son, Carl J. Peters, Jr. and his wife Catherine Needham, of Pleasanton, CA; three daughters, Carol M. Greenawalt and her husband Gary W., of Latrobe, Deborah K. Bush and her husband John W., of Nazareth, and Joyce A. Johnson and her husband, Joseph A. III, of Frederick, MD; ten grandchildren, Gary E. (Connie) Greenawalt, Scott (Lisa) Greenawalt, Nicole (Mike) Herceg, John Wayne Bush, James Peters, Samuel Peters, Jennifer (Matt) Milas, Doug Fair, Jamy Johnson, and Zachary Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Morgan, Luke, Ben, Ava, and John William; and numerous nieces and nephews.
