    Inscription: This stone is Erectd in respect and memory of Moses Tyler who was born January 1 1755 and died January 27th 1839 Aged 84 years and 27 days.

    Moses was the son of Edward Tyler and Nancy Langley Tyler. He married Phoebe Evans (1758 - 1831) about 1779. They had 10 sons. Moses held the one of the earliest Whiskey Licences issued by the state of Kentucky.His homestead is now called "Blackacre" a state preserve. The barn he built sometime before 1790 still stands there today.
    It is believed that Moses was actually born on January 1, 1753.
