BIOGRAPHY: The Descendants of George Little By George Thomas Little, A.M., Auburn, Maine Published by the Author 1882 - Page 7 Mr. Little lived upon the homestead at Newbury. He served in King Philip's War, and was said town collector. Two of his account books were recently in existence. At his death he was executor of the estate of Joseph Morin, and perhaps had settled other estates. He died of small-pox, and according to the practice of that time, was kept during his illness in a room so heated that one's hand could not rest on the walls without discomfort. It is the tradition that he caught the disease while passing a house where infected clothing was exposed from the windows, and that his physician, while in a state of intoxication, administered a prescription which hastened, if it did not cause his death. He died 8 March 1691, and was buried in the vicinity of his home. His estate was appraised at L1065.7. References
