  2. My father was buried in the common burying ground about a mile from home. The Methodist priest who preached my father's sermon died three weeks afterward and was buried beside my father at Mr. Hammon's request (the name of the preacher.) I visited the graveyard in 1827 and found the two graves grown over with blackberry brush. Peace to their ashes until the resurrection morn. from Autobiography (1806-1846)
