Moses was mentioned in his father's will and listed on a Chatham assessment roll of 1755. His name was found in an early account book at Barrington, NS, and his presence there is substantiated by an entry in Simeon Perkin's diary of 2/16/1773.No probate records for Moses Godfrey or his wife have been found in Barnstable Co. or NS.

Barrington resident whose name was in an early Mog-Book. Moses presence is substantiated by _Diary of Simeon Perkins_: "16 Feb 1773, Solomon Gould, grandson of Moses Godfrey died some time ago n Cape Cod." NGS "Nova Scotia Settlers from Chatham, MA, vol 62, p101
