Moses was born in Hants CO Nova Scotia, CA, then moved with his paren ts to Hamilton CO OH, USA around 1817. His parents moved to Otta wa CO in 1824, which he followed in 1828. He obtained a land gra nt of 39 acres of farm land, as did his father and three brothers, the lo ts were of different acerages and in the near vicinity of Moses. Moses th en met and married Mary Hall on April 7, 1834.
