FACT: I2281 Type: Merged GRAMPS ID 1850 Census - Smyth County, VA - Moses Allen age 26 and wife Susannah age 17.They were living next door to Parker and Ruth Hall, and two houses away from James and Catherine Allen. His first wife, Susannah, died, and he married Elizabeth Allen. After Selling their property in Smyth County in 1858, Moses and Elizabeth moved their family by wagon along with their livestock to the Blackwater area of Lee County, VA. Henry and Ann Allen, Eizabeth's parents, moved thereabout the same time. 1860 Census - Lee County, VA - Moses Allen age 29, wife Elizabeth E age 22, and children, Elen age 3 and William T. age 2. They were living next door to Henry and Ann Allen, Elizabeth's parents. Moses Allen is on the roster for the 64th Virginia Infantry, Company R, during the Civil War. 1870 Census - White Shoals Township, Lee County, VA - Moses Allen age 47, Elizabeth E. age 33, Marthy E. age 14, William T. age 12, Nancy age 9, Charlie G. age8, Robert D. age 6, Henry age 3. Also living with them were three of Henry and Ann Allen's children: Christina age 25, Eliza M. age 16, and Benjamin F. age7. 1880 Census - White Shoals Township, Lee County, VA - Moses Allen age 54, Elizabeth age 44, Ellen age 21, W. T. (son) age 20, N. E. (daughter) age 19, C.G. (son) age 17, R. D. (son) age 15, Henry age 13, R. A. (daughter) age 11, C.C. (son) age 9, John age 6, and Almeda age 4. 1900 Census - Blackwater Precinct, Lee County, VA - Moses Allen age 70, born VA and both parents born VA. He was a farmer and had been married 37 years according to the census. Wife Elizabeth age 62, daughter Elen age 36, son John age 23, and daughter Allie age 19. 1910 Census - Enumeration District 26, Lee County, VA, Elizabeth Allen was head of household with daughter Ellen age 36, daughter Allie age 16, and granddaughter Mary age 4 born in Tennessee. Moses' place of burial is unknown and family members who have tried to find his gravesite have been unsuccessful. References
