Thursday was the hottest day of the season all over the west. At Milwaukee the thermometer registered 91° in the shade and several cases of sunstroke were reported, one fatal.
Morris Lykens, aged fifty-two, who was working on a farm near Muncie, was killed by a sun stroke. At St. Louis the thermometer reached 100°. There were five cases of sun-stroke, one fatal— Rudolph Fliegenberger, of Milwaukee.
