Morris Bowers was a Fifer in Capt. Anthony Singleton's Company No. 3, 1 st Artillery Regiment, Continental Troops, commanded by Col. Charles Harri son, serving with Gen. George Washington at Valley Forge, June 3, 1778. Vo l.I, page 55, Revolutionary Soldiers of Virginia. Morris was appointed Sep tember 8, 1777 and served for the duration of the war. He drew no pension. The heirs of Morris Bowers, namely, Polly Sheppard, Ann Carr and Catheri ne Henningham, the only children and heirs of Molly Wright, the only he ir and daughter of Morris Bowers, received warrant 7559 for 200 acres of l and, issued January 11, 1834. as per Walker Baumgardner research
