POWER OF ATTORNEY

Know all men by these presents, That I, Morgan A. Russell, of Bolivar, in the state of Missouri, have made, constituted, and appointed, and by these presents do make, constitute and appoint N. W. Fitzgerald, of Washington, D. C. my true and lawful Attorney, irrevocable, for me in my name, place and stead, hereby annulling and revoking all former Power of Attorney, authorizations, whatever in the premises to prosecute my pending claim for “Bounty Land as heir of Samuel Russell ____ who was a Soldier of the Revolutionary War and since died leaving a widow Hannah Russell who obtained pension on account of the services of Said Samuel and who has since the obtaining ______ Pension departed this life” and to, from time to time, furnish any further evidence necessary or that may be demanded, giving and granting to my said Attorney full power and authority to do and perform all and every act whatsoever requisite and necessary to be done in and about the premises, as fully to all intents and purposes as I might or could do, if personally present at the doing thereof, with full power of substitution and revocation, and to receipt and sign all vouchers, hereby ratifying and confirming all that my said Attorney or his substitute may or shall lawfully do or cause to be done by virtue hereof. In witness whereof, I here unto set my hand and seal this 14 day of March 1881.

   Morgan A. Russell, an old citizen of Bolivar, died at his home on Springfield street last Monday morning, of a complication of diseases. He was about 66 years of age. His body was buried Tuesday in the old cemetery.
