Death: Ches R. Gottfredson Ches R. Gottfredson, 67, passed away June 19, 1998, in Salt Lake City. He was born on April 22, 1931, in Ely Nevada to Raymond Ward Gottfredson and Melba Utahna Riddle. He married Ethel Newman on June 3, 1952 in St. George, UT. Ches was an educated man, receiving his early education in Ely. Later, at BYU he earned a B.A. in History and Economics, M.A. in Counseling and Ph.D. in Philosophy. He taught Institute for the LDS Church in Southern California and Pocatello, Idaho. He was a counselor at Whitehorse High School in Montezuma Creek, UT, then retired in Salt Lake City to philosophize and write. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; daughters, Cheryl Keller, LeAnn Cochran, Kay Holly; sons, Raymon and Steve Gottfredson' 10 grandchildren; brothers, Harold and Doug Gottfredson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 23, 1998, 12 noon at the LDS 33rd Ward, 453 S. 1100 East. Friends may call one hour prior to that service. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
