MILITARY:

Cutler Seaver, a baker of Springfield, MA, enlisted as a Private in the Union Army on 11 July 1864 at the age of 18. He enlisted in Company E, 42nd Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts on 22 July 1864, and was mustered out of the same unit on 11 November 1864. He also enlisted, as a baker of Worcester MA, as a Private in the Union Army (Company D, 62nd Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts) on 28 March 1865 at the age of 28. He died of disease in the same unit on 28 April 1865 in Readville MA ["Military Records of Individual Civil War Soldiers," Historical Data Systems, Provo UT, accessed at "American Civil War Soldiers" database on www.ancestry.com].
