Copied from Monroe's find-a-grave memorial page: "He was the husband of Ida Virginia Welsh, the daughter of William H. and Virginia Selinas (Adams) Welsh. She was born December 9, 1873 in Keyser, West Virginia and died February 18, 1956 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Monroe is the son of Francis Vinton and Mary Emma (Jackson) Rathbone. "In 1895 he moved to Chicago where he lived for five years being the assistant manager of the lubricating sales department of the Standard Oil Company. He returned home in 1900 as a purchasing agent for a wholesale grocery called Shattuck-Jackson Company. In 1907 he became manager of the Camden Works. (oil company).
