   Miriam A. Bodes, 71, of Meyersdale RD 1 died Oct. 22, 1996, at Somerset Hospital, Somerset.  Born Feb. 27, 1925, at Meyersdale, she was a daughter of the late James and Viola (Nicholson) Swearman.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George M. Bodes, on June 9, 1978.  Survived by 2 sons, James M. Bodes and wife Terry L. and George E. Bodes and wife Patricia J., all of Meyersdale; a sister, Helen Zimmerman; a nephew, Randy Zimmerman and wife Debbie, and a great-niece, Nina Zimmerman, all of Meyersdale; 6 grandchildren:  Lisa L. Hoyman, Garrett; James G. Bodes, Shane A. Bodes and Lori E. Bodes, all of Meyersdale; Thomas E. Bodes and wife Jenni, Grantsville, Md., and Heath W. Bodes and wife Dawn, Salisbury.  Also 2 great-grandchildren, Brianna L. Hoyman and Logan M. Hoyman, both of Garrett.  Member of St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ.  Employed for 20 years as cook for Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Newman Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury.  Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating.  Interment, St. Paul Wilhelm Church Cemetery.
