MINOR THOMAS, son of Recompense Thomas and Sarah Larranie/Lawrence,born July 8, 1770 Rensselaerville, Albany Co, NY, died June 26, 1830. Married Ellen Fairchild on April 1, 1792. Minor became the pioneer Baptist preacher in Ohio and Indiana about 1820, settling first in the Miami Valley near the present site of the city of Cincinnati. A few years later, he bought a tract of land in Fayette Co., IN. Per GENEALOGY OF EARLY SETTLERS OF NEW YORK, “He was a powerful preacher and wore himself out in frontier work organizing many Baptist organizations in Ohio and Eastern Indiana.
MINOR THOMAS married 2nd NANCY WINANS of Seneca Co., NY., born unkn died Nov 1, 1818.
