    BYLSMA, Minnie, a longtime resident of Lynden and one of the first students to attend Ebenezer Christian School, passed away at St. Joseph Main Campus in Bellingham on Saturday, Aug. 24, 1991 at the age of 93. Minnie was born on June 4, 1898 in Firth, Neb. to Johannes and Wilhelmina (Vos) VanMersbergen. She came to Lynden at the age of 4. In Lynden on May 6, 1920 she was married to Fred Bylsma. He passed away in 1940. Minnie was a homemaker and charter member of the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. Survivors include her daughter Berniece "Bea" Bylsma of Lynden; son-in-law Ren Heutink of Bellingham; brother John VanMersbergen of Lynden; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by daughter Frances (Bylsma) Heutnik in 1965, three brothers and five sisters. A memorial funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. Henry Numan officiating. Burial will precede in Monumenta Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
