In 1914, while she was living in Presque Isle, ME, her neighbor's sewage backed up into her home's cellar. Her canned goods were stored in the cellar and she and daughter Ferol spent time cleaning them up. Both contracted Typhoid Fever. Minnie died (age 43 yrs, 3 mos, 16 days) but Ferol, who was very ill, survived. (Source: Lela Mooers Everett)

Minnie was terrified of thunderstorms and would hide under the bed during a storm.
