Minnie left home permanently after a bitter quarrel with her family. Nothing is known about her life, but someone later reported having seen her in Portland, Oregon and that she had a son, Jim-Bill. Now knowing that she had been married to Emmet Ball, could the son have been Jim Ball?

Mendocino Dispatch Democrat reported on 8 May 1891 that "Miss Minnie McAbee, of Boonville, visited Ukiah the fore part of this week." Was her marriage to Emmett Ball possibly annulled?

Reported on 5 Jun 1891 "Miss Minnie McAbee of Boonville, passed through Ukiah on Sunday en route to San Francisco."
