Minnie married Wiktor Erickson in East Lake, MI. After Wiktor dies, she traveled to Milwaukee and Superior Wisconsin looking for work. Her two children, Doris and Cliff, traveled with her, but eventually Cliff went back to Manistee to live with his maternal grandparents and his uncle Charlie Johnson. Minnie eventually remarried to Walter Ramsey.

Minnie was a good grandmother to her only two grandchildren, Victor and Kristin. A bit eccentric, she is remembered for her cooking, especially Swedish meatballs, and for her ability to screech at a high tone and volume when frightened.

Minnie was diagnosed with cancer in the 1940s, but it did not kill her until 1965.
