Minnie Bowyer BryantDecember 16, 2010Minnie Catherine Bowyer Bryant, age 78, of 800 W. Ridgeway Street, Ridgeview Apartments, Clifton Forge, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1932 in Botetourt County (Eagle Rock), Virginia to the late Willard L. and Minnie Blanche Dollman Bowyer. The first of six children, she attended Eagle Rock High School, was a homemaker, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Clifton Forge. She enjoyed cooking, canning, housekeeping, gardening, camping and fishing at Hatteras Island, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ashby Fred Bryant; a son, Leo Reid McCoy; and a brother, Willard Roy Bowyer. She is survived by four sisters, Mary B. Whitmer of Roanoke, Annie B. Sink of Clifton Forge, Elsie B. West of Clifton Forge, and Betty B. Bradberry of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Doris Ferris McCoy of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Michelle Leigh McCoy and James Leo McCoy; six great grandchildren, Haley Nicely, Hunter Nicely, Reagan Nicely, Cheyanne Groves, Palin McCoy, and Levi R. McCoy; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Services will conclude at Nicely Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Glasgow Cemetery in Glasgow. There will be no visitation. However, friends may call anytime at Nicely Funeral Home.
