I am a direct descendant of Minitree Jones (b. August 3,1752, James City Co., Va., d. Feb. 1, 1821, Richmond, Va.). Minitree was the son of Thomas Jones (b. August 23, 1704, Middlesex Co., Va.) and Elizabeth "Bette" Minitree. Minitree's birth was registered at Bruton Parish Church, Williamsburg, Va. (listed as Manettrel , Thos. and Bette Jones). He married Elizabeth Powell (daughter of James Powell), May 30, 1773, King William Co., Va.
Thomas Jones was the son of Roger Jones and Mary Churchill of Middlesex Co., Va.
Mary Churchill was the daughter of Col.(Sir) William Churchill and his 1st wife, Mary ____?
According to popular claims Minitree Jones married Mary Spottswood, but that was not true!
