Akin, one of Monroe county's prominent citizens died at his home four miles north-west of the city Tuesday night after an illness of three months of liver and kidney complications. He was 77 years of age, leaves a family and was a member of the Methodist Church. The funeral occurs from the late residence this morning at 10 o'clock and the interment will be at Rose Hill."
