The will of John Wells, 1730/31, Richmond County, VA, mentions wife (not first wife), Million, and sons George, John, Barnaby and Thomas. The will of their grandmother, Elizabeth Bradley, proves that at least George and John were sons by the first wife. The will was proven in court by the witnesses, Edward Eidson and Willoughby Fielding, and presented by the executors, George and Million Wells.
From various postings here and elsewhere, it is evident that Million was next married to John Foushee, and that he died leaving her with a son named Nathaniel. I do not have a transcription of his will.
Million was next married to Thomas Chamble/Chambliss and they were in Orange Co., VA, by 1739. Thomas died there in 1744, leaving a will mentioning wife Million, son-in-law (i.e., stepson) Thomas Wells, son-in-law (stepson) Nathaniel Fooshe and Thomas and Million's own children, Million and Travis. Witnesses were George and Sarah Wells and John Fooshe. The will was proven in court by George and Sarah Wells, and Million qualified as executrix.
It's apparent from the names Million and Travis (i.e., Travers) that Million was connected to the Travers and Downman families of Richmond County. I see that there has been some discussion of this on this forum before. I'm just beginning research on this family, and I'm wondering if anyone has made any headway in identifying her. Any other information would also be appreciated and I'll gladly share.
Thanks.
