Obituary from funeral folder: Mildred Irene Douglas Mildred I. Douglas, age 88, resident at the Custer County Rest Home, Miles City passed away Arpil 18, 1992. She was born December 25, 1903 at Lead, South Dakota the daughter of Edward and Emma Bentley Curran. At the age of 3 years she moved with her family to Spearfish, South Dakota where she grew up attending grade school and normal school and graduating witha B.S. from Black HIlls Teacher College. She was married to William Harvey Douglas at Spearfish, South Dakota on August 30, 1927. They continued to make their home in Spearfish until Harvey preceeded her in death on May 27, 1949. After her husbands death she moved to Gold Creek, Montana and taught school for one year, the she moved to Broadus, Montana and taught school there for one year before moving to Miles City in 1952 where she taught at Garfield, Roosevelt and Lincoln Schools until her retirement in 1969. She continued to live in Spearfish and Miles City until the time of her death. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, the American Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, a charter member of the Spearfish Saddle Club and an avid horsewoman. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader, and an American Red Cross Grey Lady.
