    Michael Young.
The death of Michael Young, 83, well-known resident of this city for a long number of years, occurred at 11:15 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Strickler, on Congress street. Mr. Young had been in poor health since March, suffering with a malignant disease and a complication of other diseases attending old age. Although he had suffered a great deal he had been bedfast only during the past five days and had failed rapidly in that time. Mr. Young was born in Bavaria, Germany July 17, 1848 and came to this country with two of his sisters when he was nineteen years of age. He was the son of George and Mary Young. He came to Indiana and shortly after made his home in this city and had resided here since that time. He was especially well-known among the older German residents of the city and had always felt a keen interest in the affairs of his community. In 1873 he was united in Marriage to Fredericka Hipskind and ten children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. The death of Mrs. Young occurred a number of years ago and Mr. Young had lived alone here since her death, until his illness, when he went to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Strickler. He is survived by six sons, Adam of Wabash, Joseph of Chicago, Henry of Mishawaka, Frederick of Indianapolis, Theodore and August of Wabash; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Strickler of Wabash and Mrs. Earl Snavelly of Wabash; three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Lehman, Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Mary Mipe, all of Wabash; besides one brother, Chris, whose residence is not known by his relatives. For many years Mr. Young was employed in the Big Four shops in the boiler room. He suffered an injury to his arm about thirty years ago and had been unable to do any sort of active work since that time. No definite funeral arrangements have been announced. The body was removed to the Jones Funeral Home today.
