David served as a deacon, and "kerkmeester" of the Dutch church, and died Oct. 14, 1763, leaving, among other children, a son, David, born Sep. 1st, 1725, who inherited the paternal estate at Hempstead Swamp, (now occupied by Richard Spragg, Jun.) and married Barbara Bloom, of the Wallabout. He died May 29, 1803. His only son, David, fell heir to a new house, erected by his father ; and his son, Michael S. Springsteen, now occupies the same. ...
