Grandpa Michael Motel(Mychal Motil possible correct spelling of his name). Came to the United States before WWI around 1899. His first wife was Helena Stephisin, she is from Rovne, Austria- Hungary (present day Slovakia) from the town next to where Grandpa was born. They had two children there Ella born 28 Apr 1897 and Anna Born 15 Nov 1898. In 1900 when she finally came to the U.S., they married in Kelly Island, Erie, Ohio. There they have two more children Mary born 6 Oct 1901 and Julia born 24 Feb 1903. Some time after that they moved to Chicago. Where they were founding member of St.Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church at 49th and Seeley. In 1906 Helen died from TB. Shortly after her death, her infant son Michael Jr.died also from TB. Both are buried in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Having for young girls to raise Grandpa headed back to the old country he thought, on his way he meet my grandmother Helen Krivak. They married in Passaic New Jersey. Came back to Chicago, and had 8 children together. My mother Lillian Fricke (Motel) was lucky number 13.
