    "2 Michael (Maddiver), Spurwink, one of Winter's most trust-worthy fishermen, sent £4 to Eng. in 1642 and £5 in 1643, and poss. went home to bring back his 1st wf., Judith, bef.
    1657-8 when Jordan deeded him 150 a. on west side of Spurw. river to pay for his unrewarded services to Mr. Winter. Sub. To Mass. 1658, Scarboro constable 1660, abs. from church 1660, 1668 (twice). … Legal difficulties over bounds bet. his farm and Ambrose Boaden jr.'s, 1660-1664. He gave the farm to his s. Joel, but on 8 May 1669 he exchanged it for Capt. Gendall’s 100 a. farm at Purpooduck Point and deeded this to Joel, 'my heir to the premises.' His 2d w. was Agnes Carter, wid. of Richard(11), on whose No. Yarmouth farm he ended his days. She was app. Adm. 27 Aug. 1670, Tho. Stanford and Ralph Turner bondsmen, Stanford and John Wallis appraisers, the Carter cattle and his being kept separate in their return. The ct. ord. the est. of 'his father Maddiver' turned over to Walter Mare who settled it in 1671. Wid. Agnes dep. at York in 1682, ag. 82. Ch. by 1st w: Joel. A dau. m. Walter Mare."
