As far as is known, Michael was the only member of his family that did move to America. He stayed in Czechoslovakia to take care of the family farm in Velke Kozmalovce. As the only member of his own family to remain in Czechoslovakia, he was only permitted a visit to America in 1965. His wife and children had to remain in Czechoslovakia as collateral to insure his return. He had been told that America was a horrible place by the communists, and was shocked to find that America was a beautiful free country, much different than the communists portrayed it. He died in Czechoslovakia.

!BAPTISM_CONFIRMATION: The ordinances of baptism and confirmation were performed for Michael in the Washington D.C. Temple on 12 November, 2005. The youth of the Denbigh Ward, of the Newport News Virginia Stake, were proxies for these ordinance during an excursion to the temple for baptisms for the dead.
