                   1830 - Preble Co., OH - Michael Hell (1 male 60 - 70, 1 male 15 - 20, 1 female 10 - 15.   NOTE:  His wife must have died but there is no record of her death or burial.  She probably lies under the park lawn around the Church of Christ in West Alexandria beside Michael.

OCCUPATION: Listed as manufacturing in 1820. MARRIAGE: No record found, wife's name listed in christening records of

        their children, date approximated from first known child.

PARENTS: The identity of Michael Hell's father is found in York Co., PA Deeds Book 2H:161. On 9 May 1792 the executors of the last will and testament of Michael Hall ("a" umlaut), the Elder of Codorus Twp. sold a public auction land he had bought on 26 Sep 1785 to Michael Hall ("a" umlaut), the Younger, who is specifically identified as the "...son of the said deceased of the the same township, weaver..." He had two brothers: Isaac and John. Michael (the Elder)'s wife is named in the deed as Christina. LAND: Preble Co., p. 36 and Short and Bowers p. 36 - We first find Michael Hell buying 17 1/2 acres from Jacob and Barbara Hell in 1819. This tract was a part of their joint ownership of a land patent obtained from .. A part of the 17 1/2 acres lay along the Dayton Rd. now Hwy ... and is now West Alexandria. He paid $130 for it. DEATH: Michael Hell died sometime before 13 Feb 1832 when his daughter signed a quit claim deed with ..... Ware for her share in her father's estate. Elizabeth signed for herself on this document, and since no husband was listed, you would assume she was of age. See Preble Co., OH Land Records, Book A 1808 - 1842.
