    Michael R. Hall, 67, of Indianapolis and Naples, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, after a brief illness.

    During his lifelong career in the automobile business, Mr. Hall worked at numerous dealerships in various capacities.

    In the early '90s, Mr. Hall became a co-owner with Ray Skillman at Ray Skillman Ford. In 2005, Mr. Hall sold his interest in the dealership and began spending his winters in Naples, Fla, where he began an avid and passionate relationship with the game of golf.

    He leaves behind a wide and colorful band of brothers at Collier's Reserve Country Club in Naples.

    Mr. Hall was born May 3, 1943, in Beech Grove. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. When he returned from his tour of duty, he enrolled at Indiana University and received his marketing degree from the school of business.

    Someone has said that Mike Hall was everyone's greatest cheerleader. It didn't matter if you were his child, his grandchild, his niece or nephew, one of the kids on his block, a former student of his wife's, an employee or his friend's children. He wanted others to succeed, and many reading this know that this is true. He truly cared about other people.

    Mr. Hall was a member of several organizations. He was serving on the board of Rod and Staff Ministries. He was a past member of the National Auto Dealers Association, Indianapolis Auto Trade Association, Ford Dealers Advertising Fund and the Ford Twenty Group.

    He held various offices and received numerous awards within these organizations. In Indianapolis, he was a member at Highland Golf and Country Club.

    He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two children, Annie Houston (Aaron) and Kevin Hall (Stacy); two granddaughters, Isabel and Zoe Houston; two brothers, Rodger Hall (Peggy) and David Hall (LaDonna); two sisters, Diane McElhaney and Cindy Neeley (Norman); his mother-in-law, Jane McGinnis; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Armstrong and Adran Hall.

    A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
