The Gabel family entry in 'Heidelberg Families' notes: "Moved to the Wyoming Valley, PA, where he left descendants. He was enrolled in the 5th Class, 7th Company in the Revolution in 1780 and 1782, and was in active service in Captain Stahler's company, Sept. 17, 1781." Michael Kabel and wife appear as sponsors of Elizabeth Hainbach, daughter of Heinrich and Catharina on Sept. 24, 1786. A Michael Gabel is listed on the muster roll of the 8th Class, Seventh Co., Third Battalion, Northampton Co. Militia in 1778 (PA Archives, Fifth Series, Vol. 8., p. 238). It is not clear if this is this man or his father. A Michael Gabel appears on the muster role of Captain Sechler's company, 6th Class of the 6th Battalion, Norhtampton Co. Militia on Jan 6, 1781 (PA Archives, Fifth Series, Vol. 8., p. 463). Micheal Gabel and Magdelena appear on April 13, 1794 as sponsors of Maria, daughter of Rudi and Christina Laugenohr. Note that Michael Gabel, Sr. and Elizabeth Margaretha appear as baptismal sponsors of another child on the same day. Micheal Cabel and Magdelena appear on Nov 30, 1794 as sponsors of Daniel,son of Christian and Catharina Lauchenor. References
