Michael Ervin's Will

In the Name of God Amen, I Michael Ervin of the Township of Manalapan, in the County of Monmouth, and State of New Jersey, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish my last Will and Testament as follows:~

First. It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses by duly paid and satisfied as soon as may be after my decease.

Second. I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars each to my children namely, Joseph Erwin, Richard Ervin, Charles Ervin, John Ervin, William Ervin, Jennie Clayton, and Harriet Griggs.

Third. I give, devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate real, personal or mixed to my son George Ervin, his heirs and assigns forever.

Lastly. I hereby constitute and appoint my said son George Ervin, sole executor of this my last will and testament, with full power to sell my personal and real estate at private or public sale and to execute deed or deeds therefore.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 23rd, day of February A.D. Ninteen Hundred and Three.

Signed, sealed published and declared by the above named Michael Ervin, to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who were present at the same time and subscribed our names aw witnesses in the presence of the testator and in the presence of each other.

William L. Conover, one of the witnesses of the within Will, being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say that he say Michael Ervin the testator therein named sign and seal the same, and heard him publish, pronounce and declare the annexed writing to be his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as this deponent knows and as he verily believes and that Ella G. Craig and Lou Conover McDonald the other subscribing evidences were present at the same time, and signed their names as witnesses to the said Will, together with this deponent in the presence of the said testator and of each other, and at the request of the testator.
