"White Creek" has posted these DUNFEE Family members on WeRelate.org because of their connection to a group of Palatine pioneers who migrated from Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and settled near Urbana, Indiana. The Dunfee Family members who were posted by "White Creek", were part of a group who settled very early (1830s) in the area to the west of the future village of Urbana. They link to a "cluster" of pioneers who settled in the same area. Most of them were of English speaking ancestry, and were members of the Christian, and Presbyterian Churches, located between the villages of Urbana, and Roann, in Wabash County, Indiana. They settled primarily in Paw Paw Township. A guess would be that they were of Irish origin. "White Creek" has the surnames of 101 Dunfees in his Legacy Program. I do not know how many of those have made their way onto the WeRelate.org website. Nor does he know if the Dunfees named, are all related to each other. The nearby Palatines were of German speaking ancestry, and were very recent immigrants to America, whereas the Dunfees and their connected families were Americans for many generations. The principal link in "White Creek's" research between Michael Dunfee's descendants and their Palatine neighbors is Mary Dunfee (1866-1951), and her marriage in 1897 to SAMUEL LOWER. --White Creek 01:48, 28 December 2013 (UTC) References
