"His father, who was in Ballinasloe on Friday from an early hour in the morning, was anxiously watching the arrival of the mid-day train, by which the daily papers are conveyed to Ballinasloe, and when a man who had just got one of the papers commenced to read the sentence of Mr. Justice O'Brien, he burst into tears. He is about 62 years of age, and says he has little more now to live for. He will go to Dublin to see his son before his execution takes place, after which he stated he will endeavour to emigrate with the rest of his family."
