    NOTE: I'm puzzled why the member of the family who answered the enumerator's questions would think their father had been born in Louisiana and their mother in Massachusetts, when both were Irish immigrants. The only possibility I can see is that the question was badly misunderstood as "place of arrival in the U.S." rather than "place of birth." Their mother, Johannah, did indeed arrive at Boston.
