[edit] MYTHS BUSTED
[edit] BIOGRAPHYOn the 31st Oct 1851 former Ohio Supreme Court Justice Thomas Scott wrote a letter to his children outlining their ancestry and family relationships which included:: "Elizabeth (Parker) intermarried with Col. Michael Collyer (Collier) and John (Parker) with Miss Sally Collier, grand-son and grand-daughter of old Col. Thomas Cresap. These two families many years since removed and settled in Shelby County, Kentucky." The Elizabeth Parker and John Parker referenced were children of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Scott) Parker, and were 1st cousins to Ohio Supreme Court Justice Thomas Scott, so he had first hand knowledge of the relationships. See Parker - Collier - Cresap Connection Ohio Supreme Court Justice Thomas Scott was born and grew up in in Oldtown, MD. He knew both the Cresap's and the Parker's. His is a first hand account. How could Michael Collier and Sally Collier be grandchildren of Col. Thomas Cresap, if their parents were not Isaac Collier and Elizabeth Cresap? Michael Collier had a son, born by his 1st wife in 1780 Maryland named Isaac Collier. Assuming his father was 21 years old when he married his 1st wife, the Michael Collier who married Elizabeth Parker was born by or before 1759. Either the 1751 birth year for Michael Collier is incorrect, or the birth year for his mother Elizabeth Cresap! References
