Michael T. Brown, according to the census records was born in Augusta County, Virginia. The 1850 and 1860 census records do not agree. The 1850 census show age 64, and the 1860 census show age 72. Michael T. Brown died October 10, 1861. His Estate ws appraised December 28, 1861 by Arthur Ball, John Yeary and Levi Chance (WBK 332). R.M. Bales, Thomas Ball and Joseph Brown by an order of the court. "We have met at the residence of the late Michael T. Brown, deceased, and appraised all the personal property, October 5, 1869" (WBK 3-310)
