    Died - On Saturday Morning last, after a long Confinement, Metcalf Bowler, Esq; formerly for many Years Speaker of the House of Representatives of this Sate, and one of the Judges of the Superior Court. On Tuesday his Remains were enterred in the Church-Yard, after a Sermon suitable to the melancholy Occasion had been delivered by the Rev. Mr. Smith, of South Kingstown.

    Last Tuesday, agreeable to Charter, the several Towns in this Colony made Choice of Gentlemen to represent them in the assembly to be convened in October next; a List of which we shall endeavour to procure, in order... The following are those who were chosen by the Town of Newport, viz.
    Mr. Metcalfe Bowler,
    Mr. John G. Wanton,
    George Hazard, Esq;
    Mr. Benjamin Greene,
    Capt. Samuel Carr,
    Capt. William Read.

    The General Assembly of this Colony at their last Session, appointed Henry Ward, and Medcalfe Bowler, Esqrs. Commissioners for the intended Congress to be holden at New York in October next, in order to agree on the most probable Methods to obtain Redress for the injured and oppressed British Colonies on this Continent.

    Informs his old Customers, and the Public in general, that he has furnished his shop with a fresh assortment of European and East-India Goods, suitable for the season; which he will sell on the lowest terms for Cash. He sells all kinds of West-India Goods as ususal.
