Merlin Leo Thomas, 85, died at 12:02 p.m. Jan 13, 1995 at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Feb 26, 1909, in Amanda Township to Charles Daniel and Lillian Baber Thomas. On June 6, 1935, he married Margaret Ethel Wilson, who survives.
Mr. Thomas was a welder retired from the Clark Equipment Company. He was a member of the Christy United Methodist Church, the International Order of the Odd Fellows and the United Auto Workers.
Survivors include two sons, James A. (Betty) Thomas of Lima and Charles D. (Kathy) Thomas of Elida; a daughter, Kathleen Wadman of Waymart, Pa.; a brother, Sam Thomas of Harrod; two sisters, Dorothy Stevens of Cridersville and Mary Newland of Lima; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Thomas and Stanley Thomas; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Mary Kay Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. amd 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
