[Note: traditionally, Mercy's birth is estimated around 1709 (this source) or 1710 (this source) because this birth record is thought to apply to her sister Mary. But Mary married James Maverick (shown by father's will) and the birth of their first child is recorded 1718, then 1720/21, 1725, 1729, 1732, 1735. While there is no marriage record, and the possibility of two wives named Mary exists, it seems more likely that Mercy's birth was recorded under the name Mary, or Marcy was misread as Marey, etc. This change also appears to make the list of children in the father's will fall in birth order.]
