Per Anne Regenstein in an email to Daniel Stern on 9/17/2009: "My great great grandmother, Clara Rosenbaum, was the daughter of Mendel Rosenbaum of Zell bei Wurzburg. If I have this correctly, he was an advisor to the King of Bavaria and helped secure rights for Jews. He led a Jewish community in Zell and was a renowned Jewish scholar. As a child I remember my grandparents showing me pictures of the house that Mendel Rosenbaum occupied in Zell. In 1978, I spent a weekend in Zell and met with a local historian and saw the same house that was in my grandparent’s old pictures."
