Film #1301513, Family History Library, Salt Lake City; Malissa Deckard (nee Ferguson) died 1----28-1878 from complications due to miscarriage. She was 21 years old. "The Prairie Sleeps", Zion Hill Cemetery, lists John P. Deckard, b. 1856 and d. 1916 and below him is Melissa J. Deckard (wife of JP) and (dau of Wm B & Fanny Hart Ferguson). It shows Melissa's birthdate as 1858 but no death date is given. This must be an error because the Illinois Archives show she married Aaron W. Deckard 12/24/1874. The archives also show that John P. Deckard married a Malissa Thompson. Records for Dry Grove Cemetery list A. W. Deckard; Melissa (wife of AW); and infant Deckard (dau of A. W. and M.)
