Died---On Sunday, March 11, at her home in Watervalley, Miss., Mrs. Melissa Ellis Wiggins, died in her 93rd year. This is the close of a life of rare activity and unusual usefulness and the sweet character will be long remembered by the many whose lives she influenced. Melissa Ellis was the oldest sister of grandmother Ellen Babington and was born in the old Ellis home in North Franklinton, where she lived till her 16th birthday when she was married to Rev. Wiggins, a Methodist minister. She spent her life in christian work, and even in her old age walked two miles to and fro to attend her Sunday church service and weekly prayer meeting. She was the grandmother of the beloved Mrs. Ethredge, who was Secretary of the Woman's work in the Baton Rouge District for 15 years, having only recently moved away. There are many here who have kept in touch with Mrs. Wiggins thru all the years and who will be saddened to learn of her death.
