Although the third letter of her name is clearly crossed like a t, this may possibly be Melinda since it resembles no known name. She appears to be the youngest child in the family and is presumed to be the Melinda Taft who married Daniel Smith in Richmond in 1820 based on circumstantial evidence (name, age and location). More research is needed to confirm this speculation.
