Her parentage appears to be unknown. Trees usually place her in the family of Joseph Safford and Mary Baker or John Safford and Sarah Low, with the majority favouring the former, but there does not appear to be any firm evidence for either.

She died in Bradford in 1754, being the widow of Mr. Perley, who had died in the spring of 1751, in Bradford, where they then dwelt.'

  3. Her birth year appears to be estimated based on her marriage year and to fit into the family of Joseph Safford and Mary Baker. Her death year may have also been taken into account, as she appears to have lived into her 70's. However, she could have been born as early as 1678 and still have comfortably been the mother of her children with John Hovey.
