... Thomas and Mahala (Gfellers [sic]) Johnson, the former, a farmer and dealer in stock, born near the foot of McCartner Mountain in 1804, and died in 1870. The mother was born in Greene County, on the banks of the Nollichucky River in 1805. She still lives- in this county. Of three sons and five daughters one of the latter and two of the former are deceased. ...
