THe Goldendale Sentinel, Goldendale, Washington September 29, 1960 MAYME ESTEB Mayme Esteb, who passed away September 24, 1960 following al illness of three months and one week, was born June 21, 1881, in Centerville, Wash., the fourth oldest in a family of eight children. Her parents were Joann and Krega Matilda Kaidera. On July 29, 1900, she was married to Frank A. Niemela, who was killed in a fall from a horse two years later. To this marriage one daughter was born. Mayme Esteb lived in the Klickitat Valley until 1920 when she moved to Yakima. She was married to Sam Esteb in 1920. In 1929 she moved to Moxee to live with her daughter, remaining there until her death. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Belair of Moxee; one grandson, Vistor W. Belair, Moxee; one grand-daughter, Lonina Belair, a senior at Washington State University; one brother, John C. Kaidera, Goldendale; one sister, Hesina Kaidera, Spokane and, a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Finnish Lutheran church of Centerville. Funeral services were held at the Phillips funeral home in Goldendale on Tuesday, September 27 at 11 a.m. with interment in the Centerville Grange Cemetery. The Rev. Arthur Campbell of the Goldendale Methodist Church officiated. |
